They have good second mitt cars from private sellers and i have both sold and bought cars surrounded by both.
Make sure you buy from a private seller as the cars will be cheaper so you will get more for your money than if you buy from a hawker.
:)
Ford Ka
Not a bleak car, check around the door bottoms and sills for rust. power steering racks are expensive to replace if they fail but most other things are cheap.
Fiat Punto
Can be a nice saloon, it is rather stylish. But some things need replacing too frequently for my appetite such as cambelts, rollers and waterpumps. Head gaskets blow (as little as every 50,000 miles). In my experience, Fiat's are great for a good few years, then crash apart all at once!
206
The diesel's a great motor. The petrol's are so-so. Check the rear wheel don't lean in at the top (many lblblb to fix). Trim can be a bit cheap. Clutch gets thickset long before it fails, but it does spoil the driving experience.
Vauxhall Tigra
Just don't, not within your price range. Honestly.
VW Polo
It'll be an older one surrounded by your price range, but they can be good cars. Not as right as the reputation they have, though. Inside the car is to some extent austere. Drive one before you commit to buy as they can be an acquired appetite. Overheating isn't exactly rare, the waterpumps fail internally. It'll hold it's appeal better than the rest.
