I like freeride. I approaching the buzz of a really hard technical downhill but also playing around beside jumps and a bit of cross country, we got a cool ride in the vicinity which is a challenge to not put your foot down, i managed it once! best place to ride is probably Les Gets, everyones other raving on about it, never been myself though :(
I find roadies a bit annoying, they never nod or smile spinal column, had only one nod backbone in 15 years of cycling!
Road cycling. Most 2-lane state highway in Ohio that are not busy. Usually not too windy, flawless visibility, smooth pavement, variable terrain in Ohio.
Road bike. Anywhere in Germany or France.
if you want a special event, then try the Argus Cycle Tour, this is held annually in Cape Town, South Africa. Around mid March. The cycle tour is a moment ago over sixty miles in lenght, though the course is rather mountainous. Approximately 100,000 inidividuals enter!! for more info run to http://www.aboutcapetown.com/argus-cycle-tour.htm
For off the beaten track stuff, after my favorite is the Colorado Rockies, the majpity of the mountain towns, as well as the front range towns enjoy some great spots for down hill or mountain biking, you might want to try places such as Vail, Golden or Boulder.
For on the road, next i would suggestg Denver Colorado. Denver Metro area has layed out miles upon miles of point cycle paths. These are generally nearest to the creeks and rivers, These are usuallly well away from the roads and the traffic. These are safe and usually quite quiet. The only item you have to worry more or less are other cyclists and joggers. On the cycle paths, the local city councils have provided tiolets as capably as clean water fountains to replenish your dampen bottle or camel pack.
Denver Weather
Other than a few cold (snowy, icy) spells in winter, Colorado has in close proximity perfect weather for cycling. Source(s): I am british by birth, have lived basically in UK and South Africa, however for the past four years i own lived in the Denver Colorado region.
I prefer MTBing (aggressive cross country, trail riding....whatever they are calling it today) and road biking. I newly like cycling in standard. MTBing is the s(a)#t though because you are outside in the woods away from everyone and every annoying thing within your life for just a couple of hours. It's simply you, your bike, and the trail...unless you brought friends along. If you brought friends though...obviously they don't annoy you, so how can you go wrong??
I resembling the road bike too though...it is just SOOO fast, but I don't especially care for some driver's "tactics" in regard to us cyclists. I typically ride my road bike if I'm pressed for time, or if the trails are excessively wet and muddy. DON'T RIDE WET MUDDY TRAILS! The damage you do contained by a few seconds on a muddy trail takes HOURS to repair latter for a trail maintenance crew. Granted...some areas are actually BETTER after a bit rain (Bend, Oregon is a good example) but mostly speaking...if the trails are wet and "soft", don't ride that day...PLEASE. Those ruts become treacherous subsequent after they dry and the trail gets firm again.
Okay...that's my "rant." :)
As far as the best place to ride...Hmmm.
Fenceline trail here in Japan is apposite
Auburn state recreation area essential Sacramento is good
Rockville hills community park surrounded by Fairfield Ca is good
Tsali trails NC is great
Annadel State Park in Santa Rosa CA is awesome!!
Now....GO RIDE!!
Cyclists catch on my nipples, ride on the pavement, treat traffic lights as optional, don't pay road charge, yet expect freedom of the roads
