Where is the best place to move for a profession?

My family and I live in the country side of NJ where on earth there aren't many job. My husband was the only income, working as a buyer/purchaser for a lumber company over 40 minutes away. He be just laid off and so immediately we are looking to downsize and relocate. Where is the best place for us to move our 5 member family so that we may find job?
