mapjack.com has some great streetmaps on their site right now of several hot spots within Thailand where you are actually seeing the existing streets. I loved Chang Mai and Ko Samui when I went there but that be several years ago. Source(s): mapjack.com and I stayed there for 3 months
Mr. Lovely Fairy, first find out what airlines leave from your airport and fly to Bangkok. You can ask questions at your local travel agencies minus actually having to buy the flight; the suggestion is free!
When you know what airlines fly from your nearest international airport you can look up their websites and enter your arrival and departure dates. You will get a price to compare any travel agency against and a price to evaluate discounters against. Always make sure if taxes are also included in any final price.
In your city you can also phone up up the airline reservations office directly and purchase your flight that way. Don't drip in love with a faddy departure date, being flexible a few days before and after your best date will usually make a contribution you the best price.
I would check here first:

Additional flights from Oman:
http://www.omanairports.com/seeb_Airlineā¦
Good luck.
I sound like a product advertiser but this service genuinely is really good. I enjoy used them before (when they were on Amazon) and they find really cheap deal for all sorts of trips. Give them a try:
