Where is the best place to put a kayak into the charles river and examine the 4th of july fireworks contained by boston?

Answers:
BEHIND THE MUSEUM OF SCIENCE
Between the Mass Ave and Longfellow Bridges
Anywhere you can find a parking space and tote the boat from. If you park in Allston or Brookline near BU, you can procure to the water by taking the Bay State Road pedestrian bridge over Storrow Drive and putting in at the BU sailing pavilion underneath the BU Bridge. It's a short paddle down to the Mass Ave bridge from there.

Otherwise, the Cambridge side above the Mass Ave bridge have better access to the water. (Below Mass Ave in Cambridge, there's no access to the sea.) The Boston side has only a few pedestrian crossovers on Storrow Drive while Memorial Drive on the Cambridge side have plenty of places to cross. There's no fencing to the water on either side. Maybe close Western Avenue? Depends on how far you want to paddle in the dismal on the way back. Source(s): I live here.
In appendage to the above, there's going to be LOTS of boats in that area and some may be piloted by amateur "captains" who may hold enjoyed one too many "cold ones". Add to that the reality it's going to be dark, and you're going to be about the smallest entry out there. Make sure you take fair safety precautions, and you'll probably want to have some nice of light(s) so you don't get run over. Have fun but stay safe so you can do it again subsequent year.
