Hi,
Well there are obvious places such as the Cotswold's for that stereotypically pretty English countryside.
The coast of Devon and Cornwall is lovely as all right. Towns such as Clovelly with its cobbled streets and picturesque harbor and Padstow which has closely of charm
If you want somewhere less crowded but beautiful the nouns of Northumberland is one of those places that gets missed by the masses. You can travel along Hadrian's Wall or visit Alnwick with its garden and castle, give somebody a lift a trip over to Holy Island or across the Northumberland National Park.
Don't forget Scotland. The Highlands are spectacular and magical and if you take a trip over to the Isle of Skye or one of the other islands you won't even feel resembling you are in Britain.

Depends what you are into.. If you like Rugged Countryside, Castles etc later I do think Scotland is brilliant, good walk
London is an obvious choice, its got great shopping, market (camden market is kookie and fun), nightlife, galleries (tate modern is brilliant), polite tours along the thames/ bus tours, London Dungeon, London Eye
New Forest is nice wild horses and donkeys and lovely wildlife walks
I don't think you can go anywhere for 3 days because most of that time would be spent getting in that and back. So I would suggest London or somewhere a short train ride from London such as Bournemouth. You could just spend 3 days surrounded by Bournemouth just soaking up being contained by England - pubs, fish and chips etc. There are many beautiful places contained by Britain such as Devon or the Lake District or the Yorkshire Dales or Snowdonia but you would need a week and maybe a sports car. Maybe Oxford would be a nice place. When you have 2 weeks to spare, you could visit 'The North' and regard gritty reality.
