The Airport can provide last minute tickets, but they are not going to be very cheap. Many websites proposition "last minute" deals! You newly need to compare prices with several sites to see what's available. Deals are other are based on availability. The first response's "common sense" answer isn't in fact right -- the airport is usually not the optimal place to buy tickets, because most airlines charge additional ticketing fees that are not charged by purchasing tickets online.
The only places I'm aware of that may enjoy last-minute ticket deals are specialized places that deal near those products, such as lastminute.com. Those sites, however, usually deal with packages including hotel rooms or cars, so it may not support you if you only need a plane ticket.
You can other try pricing your ticket through travelocity.com, orbitz.com, or expedia.com to see what current prices are (generally speaking, none of those sites are likelier to be cheaper than any of the others), and you can also check southwest.com to see whether they would have good deal (or whether they even serve the airports you're looking to fly between).
If those prices are too high, your other option is to walk to Priceline or Hotwire and put in a bid for what you're willing to foot.
